Free the Shelters

• Did you know that sponsored adoption events result in three to four times the number of pet adoptions than average?
• Partnering with sponsored shelters raises awareness of the need for pet adoptions that continues long after the event
• Our sponsored events result in decreased time in shelter and reduced incidence of euthanasia
• Increased adoptions reduce overhead costs for shelters and free up space for more animals needing a temporary home
• All of this improves the lives of animals and their adopters 

About 2.4 million healthy, adoptable cats and dogs—about one every 13 seconds—are put down in U.S. shelters each year.¹  Research has shown that removing adoption fees increases the number and speed of pet adoptions and reduces euthanasia.²  Furthermore, there are no significant differences in outcome between pets adopted with or without a fee.³ 

We are going from coast to coast with our Free the Shelters campaign sponsoring free adoption events at animal shelters.  Check out the calendar below for an event near you!
